How to use it

Frequently asked questions

Why does 203 dpi appear as 8 dots per millimetre?

203 dpi divided by 25.4 is 7.99, which manufacturers round to 8 dots per millimetre. This calculator uses the exact value, so it agrees with what the printer actually does.

Why does my measurement not land on a whole dot?

Most do not. The printer rounds to the nearest dot, and the rounding error row shows how far that moves the edge in millimetres.

Does LabelInn use the same maths?

Yes. The desktop app converts millimetres to dots the same way, so a value from here matches what the app sends.
